Rare Derby Guard George Schrade Knife Co Presto Switchblade, Bone Handle, Used. I am new to Pre-Ban American Switchblades and am learning as I go. I always do my best to give accurate information about the knives I sell including what it is and the condition of the knife. Sometimes I make mistakes so please let me know if what I say is innacurate or misleading. 

One helpful thing for me getting into older American Switchblades is that I am friends with the guy that wrote the book on these knives so I have him as a resource. He's been very helpful with knowledge on descriptions and values however he also (rarely!) makes mistakes. 

Wow, ok about the knife. Hard to find Presto with Derby Guard. Nice knife, blade has been cleaned and has a small amount of loss from sharpening. The handle has been repaird around the button. The knife functions great, safety is firm and locks the blade closed and it fires strong.

- The knife is used. The blade was cleaned, has some pitting & scratches and has slight loss from sharpening. The edge near the tip and right above the tip have tiny nicks. The handle has a repair around the button which is shown up close in the pictures. I don't see any other condition issues. See the pictures as they represent the condition accurately. 

- Functions well and fires strong. It has a leaf spring and a working safety. The blade locks up ok with slight play in all directions when open. 

- Approximately 8.75 inch total length with 3.75 inch blade. 

- Knife only.
