Craftsman Tie Clasp Knife

HANDLES:   Single piece of steel

SHIELD:  The handle has a Craftsman logo engraved on the handle that looks like the shield used on some Craftsman knives.

BLADES:   Single clip blade

LINERS:   Appears to have a stainless liner on the front but no liner on the rear.

TANG STAMPS:   IMPERIAL / U.S.A.

CONDITION:   Very Good

DAMAGE:   The only damage I see is some blistering the finish, perhaps it's chrome plated I need a high power lighted glass to see them.

BLADE WEAR:   I would say the blade is probably never been sharpened from the parents.

SNAP:   Great snap closing the opening snap is good to accept the knife is still a little tight on opening. I think this probably got more and far more than it ever got used and there are some wear signs on this knife currently somebody really liked it and wore frequently.

ADDITIONAL INFO:     This is the first knife I have seen like this one, although I am not surprised to find the Imperial name on the tang stamp. Imperial made a lot of clever advertising type knives even knives that had a key and them for your automobile, long before the days of computerized ignition and electronic key fobs to open your car. This knife works in the slip joint principle. The back handle is cut along and folded back to form the clip for the tie. Very clever well engineered little knife. The knife is actually sharp enough that you could cut yourself or at least poke yourself with it if you weren't careful but I have no doubt that a person could put a good edge on it if they want to. I will leave that for the new owner. The knife is plenty sharp right now to open a number 10 envelope. If you're a Craftsman, Imperial, small knife collector or just someone who likes functional novelty items this might make a nice addition to your collection.
