ADDITIONAL INFO:   There are several unusual things about this knife probably the most obvious is that the blade has tungsten carbide fused to the cutting edge and is not something the hobbyist will be able to sharpen very well even today and certainly not in the 1960s. If you look at the Schrade-Walden flyer that I have among the photographs of this knife you will see it is listed as 9-1/2” however when I measure this knife in front of me it is only 9-1/4”. This is just one of a plethora of errors I have found in the Schrade catalogs over the years. Another interesting thing to note about this particular knife is that is listed as having Staglon handles though it is not the same color of imitation Staglon that we have come to expect after so many years of the Uncle Henry knives. The blade appears to have a slightly hazy coating over it, which I take to be from the factory because where it has rubbed off it is very shiny underneath. As was typical with a lot of production knives in the 1950s 60s, regardless the brand, the leather sheath’s were not the best in the world. This knife has a nice heavy-duty custom-made sheath that was made by one of our AAPK members. I wish I could remember I was, because I would like to have him make some more sheaths for me. The sheath with this knife is much better quality than the original sheaths were, with much thicker leather. Please look at the pictures and note I have added a Schrade-Walden sales flyer so you can print it out and use it in a display with the knife if you are the new owner. I believe these knives were made in small numbers and I have collected Schrade for the past 15+ years and this is the first EVERLAST EDGE I have seen in person. If you are a Schrade collector don’t miss this opportunity!
