ADDITIONAL INFO:      This pattern has been around since about 1950, perhaps even before. It last appears in the Schrade catalogs in 1988. It is the same 2-3/4” serpentine frame that the 108OT is built on. Apparently that size is surprisingly popular, the 108OT was introduced into production in 1963 and produced through 2004 when Schrade closed. The 808 pattern was introduced in 1950 and was in production until 1988. So from 1963 until 1988, 25 years, there were two variations of the same pattern in production. Judging from the longevity of both patterns it is a very popular size. It does give the user three good sharp carbon steel blades in a very small package at large enough that most people can use it comfortably yet it can ride easily in the watch pocket of most jeans. It’s easy to see why such a pattern would be so popular.
