CONDITION:   Excellent

DAMAGE: Normal use and wear bolsters in handle. Some spidering of the carbon steel blade, probably from fingerprints. This knife may have been sharpened but it’s very hard to tell. I can tell it has been used. I will resharpen it for the new owner free of charge if they wish, just tell me when you purchase it.

BLADE WEAR:   There are signs the blade has been used but I’m not sure it has been sharpened. I would rate this blade is 99% intact, or more.

SNAP:   Like a bear trap!

ADDITIONAL INFO:      This knife appears to be designed after some of the old Naval rope knives. The Schrade catalog call it a rope or hawser knife and some of the earlier catalogs referred to the blade as a “square-point Navy blade.” Obviously a knife designed to do heavy cutting. This one was and SFO for Publishers Paper. I have another one in my store that was made for Crown Zellerback mills. In paper mills these knives can be used for cutting large rolls of paper but their large size heavy duty construction made them ideal to use for cutting the large sheets of felt that were used in the paper drying process. A nice addition for anyone’s Schrade Walden collection or advertising knife collection.
