ADDITIONAL INFO:      This is a new in the box United States Marine Corps League commemorative knife made by Imperial Schrade Corp. circa 1968. The Marine Corps League was founded in 1923 by USMC Commandant John A. Lejeune. The blade is etched with the drawing of Joe Rosenthal’s iconic photograph of the raising of the flag at the top of Mount Suribachi during the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. The front mark side bolster has the engraved serial number 0127. I do not know how many were made originally. The knife comes in the blue-and-white Schrade Scrimshaw box and it has the original Schrade leather sheath with Schrade embossed in the leather with the logo of the cutler. The snap on the sheath flap has SCHRADE stamped into the snap. A great collectible for Schrade collectors, lockback collectors and Marines!
