ADDITIONAL INFO:      The first reference I have found this knife is in the 1953 Schrade catalog. It is also on the 1954 price sheet, though I don’t see it in the catalog. I don’t have a 1955 catalog but the model 759 Schrade Walden is not listed in the 1955 Schrade Walden price sheet. I have no explanation of why this pattern was so short-lived; perhaps it was too close to the 757 pattern, which was essentially the same knife with just tip bolsters. The 758 was also the same pattern with tip bolsters, so perhaps the sales of the 759 did not warrant keeping it in the catalog. Whatever the reason, this knife appears to only have been available for two years. It is possible that only one run of this pattern was made and when sales did not perform up to expectation, the pattern was dropped. Now is your opportunity to add this rare pattern to your collection.
