Please check it out well. This is the real deal and in some of the best shape you'll probably find. Be careful and check all the markings as there are many different versions out there and many reproductions. However, if you check the military sites, you'll find that this is the knife that was produced later in the war, which is why this one is in such excellent shape. I also saw one site that said a few different things at first, but then as you read on it corrects itself and reverts right back to this knife and it's exact markings. By the way, this knife is 4 1/8" closed. The blade is 3" so opened the total length is 7 1/8".  The blade automatic opening feature works perfectly.

This original WWII U.S. M-2 Presto paratrooper knife was manufactured by George Schrade Knife Co. Inc. of Bridgeport, Connecticut. American paratroopers often carried these in the small pocket on the M42 jump jacket's placket, allowing them to cut their parachute risers if they were to land in a tree or other elevated position.
