This is an unusual looking Imperial slipjoint. I've seen quite a few of these 1 and 2 blade folders from Imperial. Most of which are fish knives, which have a scaler on the secondary blade or spine of the main blade. Since this one does not, it is commonly reffered to as a Texas toothpick. However, the textbook name of this pattern would be a "tickler".

These knives come with scales offering a wide array of colors, patterns (mostly synthetic) and various shields. But, I have never seen one with an American flag style like this. It has full celluloid scales with a blue field, surrounded by red and white stripes. There are some minor blemishes and pin cracks on both sides of the tapered end of the handles (see pics) The large clip point blade measures in at 4 inches, with a straight pull nail nick and shows very little use, if any. It has some moderate patina and blemishes. The springs are nice and strong, with strong snap on open and close. No half stop. Locks open solid. No play or wobble. Brass pins, steel liners. Tang stamp reads "Imperial" over "Prov R.I." indicates production between 1936-1952.

Very cool, retro knife that you can show off at your 4th of July BBQ.
