Here's an extraordinary find.  Very early KINFOLKS and I'm told also very rare sheath knife.  Probably initial production about 1925 or 1926.  Incredibly never used!  The blade is mint and sharp with the factory edge, how it survived in this condition is unbelievable.  I bought this from an old timer knife dealer at the Gator Knife Show in Florida.   He believes that the sheath is original to the knife, because if you see the photo of the snap it matches the embossed pattern of other early Kinfolks knives, plus predates the typical "Kinfolks" embossing at the throat of the leather sheath that we normally see in later production.  Fits like a glove.  You can tell it was carried but looks like it never cut anything.  The snap works fine, I'm leaving it unsnapped as found.  The handle material is aged beautifully plastic/ celluloid.   Almost matches identical style to a KABAR knife from my own collection with a patent date on the tang of 1925.  Back when Kinfolks first started in Little Valley NY, it was in response to helping the CASE brothers and cousins at Cattaraugus meet the demands of knife production.   The name itself "kin folks" means family so it's possible they saw how Kabar was making knives not too far away in New York state and closely copied the pattern,  even the red and black spacers in the handle of this Kinfolks match color perfect to my early 1925 KABAR knife handle spacers.  The founder of the company which later became Kabar, Wallace Brown and his brother Emerson were originally from and started their company in Little Valley NY. 

If you're an early American knife or Kinfolks collector this is a must have.   I don't think you'll ever find a nicer example.
