The Randall Made Knives Model 16-7" SP#1 Fighter is a purpose‑built combat blade rooted in Vietnam‑era field demands. The Special Fighter (SP#1) variant emerged as a response to requests from Special Forces personnel who wanted a tougher, more combat‑oriented version of the Model 16 Diver. Randall answered by blending the 16’s rugged full‑tang construction with fighting‑knife geometry inspired by the Model 1 and Model 14. The result was a hybrid survival‑fighter designed for harsh jungle conditions and close‑quarters reliability.
The Special Fighter features a 7‑inch stainless blade, brass double hilt, and a green micarta Border Patrol handle that offers exceptional grip and durability. Hand‑forged and individually finished, the SP#1 remains a favorite among collectors and professionals for its historical pedigree and battlefield‑proven design.
