This is an Antique or Vintage NEW YORK KNIFE CO WALDEN Model No. 2079  2-Blade Wharncliffe Peanut Jack Folding Pocket Knife with a Carbon Steel Long Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, the Original Multi-shaded Brown Persian Shell Scales with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Three (3) German Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished German Silver Rounded Bolsters and Teardrop End Caps, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, Two Steel Back Springs with No Cracks or Breaks, Made by the New York Knife Co. that was Located in Little Valley, New York and Made Between c.1882 and 1931 and is 2 13/16” in length.

This is a New York Knife Co.”Hammer Brand” Model No. 2079 2-Blade Wharncliffe Peanut Jack Folding Pocket Knife with its original Persian Shell Scales. This NYKC Knife has a lightly used and sharpened carbon steel long spear point main blade with a common nail pull.  The front face has light scattered staining as dos the rear face. But the rear face also has some clusters of very light pitting.  Stamped on the front tang is HAMMER (over) BRRAND and the Hammer Brand arm and hammer logo.  Stamped on the rear tang is the Model No. off. 2079.  Next to the spear blade is a lightly used carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. The front face has scattered light micro-pitting. The rear scale has a couple of light stains. Stamped on the front tang is NEW YORK (over) KNIFE CO (over) WALDEN. Both blades still have excellent snap on open and close and solid half-stops.  The knife has its original set of Persian Shell Scales. Both scales are in excellent condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three (3) nickel silver handle pins.  The knife has brightly polished German Silver rounded bolsters and German Silver teardrop shaped end caps. Both the bolsters and end caps are free of any dents and no more than some incidental and hardly noticeable dings or scratches. The liners are polished brass. The knife has two steel back springs and both are free of any breaks or cracks and both continue to perform the functions they were designed to perform.
