This is a RARE Antique or Vintage NEW YORK KNIFE Co 2-Blade Physician Folding Pocket Knife with a Lightly Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Narrow Spear Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull, a Lightly Used Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, Black Ebony Wood Scales with One (1) End Pin Crack on the Front Scale and a Very Tight Center Pin Crack on the Rear Scale, 4 Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished German Silver Bolsters and Butt Cap, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, Two Polished Steel Back Springs with No Cracks or Breaks, Made by the New York Knife Co. that was Located in Little Valley, New York and Made Between c.1856 and 1931 and is 3 1/4” in Length. 

This is a rare very nice Vintage or Antique New York Knife Co. Walden 2-Blade Physician’s Folding Pocket Knife. It does have a few flaws but it’s very lightly used and NYKC physician knives don’t come up very often. It has a lightly used carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a very long nail pull. Both faces have scratches from use and some scattered stains on the rear face. There are a few tiny nicks in the cutting edge which should easily hone out. Stamped on the front tang is NEW YORK (over) KNIFE CO (over) WALDEN. The blade looks to still be close to 100% full. The knife has a lightly used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. Both faces have scratches from us and some scattered light pitting and scattered staining. Stamped on the front tang is NEW YORK (over) KNIFE CO (over) WALDEN. The pen blade has decent snap on open and close and a hard half-stop. The spear blade is quiet on open, does stop at the half-stop and has an excellent snap on close. The knife has a set of black Ebony wood scales. There’s a single tight end pin crack on the butt end. It runs from the pin to the butt plate and about another 1/4” to the right of the pin. There’s a single center pin crack on the rear scale though it’s so tight it looks more like a scratch rather than a crack. There are four (4) brass handle pins in each scale. The knife has brightly polished German Silver bolsters and brightly polished brass liners. The two back springs are steel with no cracks or breaks and they both continue to perform the functions they were designed to perform. This rare old vintage New York Knife Company 2-Blade Physician’s Folding Pocket Knife is 3 1/4” in length and made between c.1856 and 1931 at the NYKC factory that was Located in Walden, New York.
