ADDITIONAL INFO:     This is an early version of the L34, probably made on contract by Case for Western States Cutlery. In addition to Case, Kabar and Marbles also made fixed blade knives for Western States, but one of our members who is far more knowledgeable on Western than I am not that this was probably made by Case. Western begin making its own fixed blade knives in 1928, though it allowed some of their models to be made by contractors possibly as late as the mid-1930s until they got their foundries up and running.

When I got this knife it had no sheath and the handle was loose. I tighten the handle and cleaned it up and cleaned the blade is best I could without removing a lot of steel. I tighten the handle down with a proper spanner nut driver and re-peening the end of the tang after tightening down the handle.

I did not customize this knife, I left it as I found it except for repairs. I also made the sheath using a basic pattern commonly used by Western but I used much better leather. This leather is about twice the thickness of the leather used on many of the Western sheaths. You may add this to a collection or you can add this to your hunting kit, I believe it will do you justice in either place.
