CONDITION:  Excellent

DAMAGE:  This Honesteel appears to have been carried a lot on someone’s belt and used very little. I see no damage to the Honesteel itself, but the sheath is stained with a a few scratches on the front near where the name is embossed in the leather.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR USES OF THE HONESTEEL (info taken from paperwork that came with an old Honesteel.):

ADDITIONAL INFO:     The sheath, despite the staining and scratches, is in good condition; the rivets are tight, the stitching is tight and not frayed and the leather is soft and pliant. There were about three variations of the Honesteel that were made, some had a teardrop shaped hole in the Honesteel for the rivet, and I believe the other version had two holes in the Honesteel and two snaps that help us steel a little more rigidly. I believe this is the first version, introduced about 1972 during the Schrade Walden era. This one is not stamped Schrade Walden but it still has the patent number, so it was made after the Schrade Walden name change in the last half of 1973. The Honesteels were made in one form or another until about 1994.

When shipping items in padded envelopes I always wrap additional padding around them; it will be well padded. I have not had one damaged in shipping yet.
