Rare Miniature Ackermannchen Switchblade Knife, INOX Over Patent, By Donimo Mazzoli In Italy

Rare Miniature Ackermannchen Switchblade Knife, INOX Over Patent Mark On Back Side, Made By Donimo Mazzoli In Italy.

Here's another rare mini switchblade that was made in Italy. I know a handful of collectors that have one of these pieces in their collection. They have a unique opening system and a backlock release to close the blade. On a mini!

These knives are hard to find in the larger sizes, I'm the only dealer I've seen offer a mini version on the secondary market. This one was used and loved and shows it. Still looks beautiful and ready for retirment in someones collection!

I shared the information below in my Miniature and Keychain Switchblade facebook group today. Search it out if you're on fb and like cool mini's.

"Here’s what I know about them. Please feel free to offer corrections if I’m wrong on my info. They were made in Italy by a knifemaker named Donimo Mazzoli. They are his design with a variety of sizes and styles. I believe made in the 1960’s and sold in Europe.

Ackermannchen was the name of a store in Germany where some were sold. Those are marked with the Ackermannchen name. Many of these knives have other markings. Those were sold in other stores and countries.   There seem to be a lot found in France. Some of these included keychains which is common on mini switchblades sold in France. The most common marking I’ve seen on the mini’s is INOX over PATENT on the back tang and no mark on the front tang."

I HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING CONDITION AVAILABLE BY TEXT @ (3 ZERO 3) - 5 FOUR 9 - 1 4 1 9.

- The knife is used. The blade has scratches. It looks like someone attempted to sharpen it however it was done poorly. The blade still looks fairly full. I don't see any other condition issues. See the pictures as they represent the condition accurately.

- Functions well, fires and locks open with a little blade play. The knife is a backlock blade release design.

- Approximately 2.75 inch total length, approximately 1.125 inch blade.

- Knife only.

WANT LIST: I do my best to maintain an inventory of interesting and unique knives. I'm always looking for single pieces and collections. My current switchblade focus includes Miniature & Keychain, Vintage Imports from Europe (Spain, France, Italy, etc.) & Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc.), RPK's, Bullfighters, older Microtechs & Daltons and some other American Switchblades. I also like interesting miniature knives and arms, 1980's Import Balisongs, Coutel, Digby's (Graham Clayton) and older Great Eastern Cutlery folders.

ABOUT: I'm an US Army Veteran that became a big pocket knife user while I was on active duty in Panama. Back then my goto was a Spyderco since I grew up in Colorado. In 2010 I started collecting knives and in 2021 I decided to go all in and became a dealer. I love the gig however it's a lot of work for a one man show. I spend my days buying, selling and sometimes trading knives. I also travel to knife and gun shows regularly, walking up and down aisle's looking for cool stuff to offer to my customers and the online world.

I've met a lot of great people along my dealer journey. I've also realised there's a lot of sharks out there in the knife world. The honest ones are fine, it's the dishonest ones that suck. I've been ripped of and scammed many more times as a dealer than I ever was as a collector. I guess it's a volume deal. I'm buying and selling way more knives than I ever did as a collector.

In my listings I always do my best to give accurate information about the knives I'm selling including what it is and the condition. I take lots of pictures and offer video's for all the switchblades and some of the other knives I list. I research sale prices and other available information on all my knives. I also have a great network of other dealers and collectors to get information and opinions from. All that said, I still make mistakes so please let me know if something I say is innacurate or misleading.
