Rare Pre-Rizzuto Batwing Swing Guard 10.5 Inch Switchblade Knife, ERN Tang Stamp, Japan. 

Here's a very rare Pre-Rizzuto Batwing Swing Guard automatic in a larger size than I've seen. It's 10.5 Inch open and uses a backlock to close the blade when open. These knives are very hard to find and this one has a neat STAINLESS STEEL ERN tang stamp on the front tang & the ERN Logo on the back tang. 

ERN or C. Friedr. ERN is a German cutlery company. The knife was made in Japan in the 1960's and likely imported by ERN for the German market. It is very well made in comparison to later Rizzuto's with nickel silver guards and solid nickel silver top and bottom bolsters. The handle is thin plastic like the later Rizzy's. 

- The knife is used. The blade has been polished and there's a small amount of blade loss. There are scuffs, scratches, patina and other signs of use. It is off center when closed. I don't see any other condition issues. See the pictures as they represent the condition accurately. 

- Functions well, fires strong and locks up well. The safety works however it moves loosely in the handle. Press the button to open and used the backlock to close the blade. 

- 10.5 inch total length, 4.5 inch blade. 

- Knife only.
