Made in Solingen, Germany!

This is a traditional German style hunting knife, known as a Jagdnicker. They were intended to be used as a way to sever the spinal cord of an animal after it had been shot, to ensure a quick death. Traditional lederhosen actually have a pocket specifically intended to carry hunting knives like this one. These knives saw a large rise in global popularity following WWII. Modern Jagdnickers are easily identifiable by their stag handles and small "Bowie knife" shape; usually featuring a clip blade, some variation of cross guard and often times a lock-nut at the end of the pommel. 

This knife measures in at 9 3/8" overall with a 5 1/4" high carbon clip blade (5" to ricasso). The blade has a slight swedge cut on both sides, with a fuller that runs halfway down both sides as well. The handle is constructed with the beautiful stag you would expect from German knives of this era. The stag is pretty knobby on the top half towards the spine, the rest is a bit more worn with a nice smooth feel. It is resting between stacked rings, capped off by an aluminum pommel with lock-nut at the butt, and brass half guard at the ricasso. 

Overall the knife is in a good, used condition. The blade has light to moderate wear with very light patina and very light pitting. There are some light dents, marks and scratches throughout. (See pictures)
