This is a VERY old New York Knife Company congress knife.  According to a Google search the New York Knife Company was in existence from 1856 to 1931.  When I acquired the knife, the seller indicated this particular knife was from the 1880s...though I have not been able to independently verify that fact.   This is a used knife that has been carried and sharpened.   Overall, I would rate this knife in GOOD to VERY GOOD condition, given its age.  The blades have not been overly sharpened and still retain much of their original shape.  The tang markings are clearly legible.  The two smaller blades read "New York Knife Co Walden" and the two larger blades read "Hammer".  The front scale is in very good condition with no chips or cracks.  The back scale has a chip and some VERY TIGHT cracks (see photos)...there is no looseness or play in the back scale in spite of the cracks.   Please perform your own research prior to bidding.  Also, please review all photos as they are an integral part of the description of this item.   I accept only US Postal Service money orders AND PayPal “friends and family” as means of payment.  You can review my Ebay feedback...with over 400 positive reviews (100%)...by accessing "mudflatdan1456" on the Ebay "advanced search" web link.  I am happy to speak with interested individuals about this and my other knives by telephone should you have any questions…or wish to acquire my PayPal information to purchase a knife.  Send me an email with your contact information and I will get back to you.
