This knife is a prototype handmade for Fredrich Hartkopf. It was made in the Olbertz factory in Solingen, Germany and was part of the Olbertz Factory Collection that was bought years ago by Smoky Mountain Knife Works. Olbertz makes the German Eye & Jim Bowie knives for Carl Schlieper. They also produced the Bulldog & Fighting Rooster knives along with many others. I bought this knife a while ago from Smoky Mountain at auction. The Certificate of Authenticy  and my original receipt will be included with this knife. My quess is that the knife was made in the 1970's or 80's. It is a lockback with Ebony handles and a mirror polished stainless blade. Excellent blade action, very smooth and locks up tight with good snap & has the original edge. Ebony is crack & chip free. Bolsters, end cap and shield are nickel silver. Liners & pins are brass. Not used or sharpened. The etching is strong. Handabeit (handmade) is etched on the blade. A real beauty of a knife measuring 4 3/8 inches in the closed position.
