This is a CAM III gut hook lockback.  CAM III stands for Charles Arthur Mahon III.  Mr. Mahon had the knives that he designed made in Seki Japan in the 1980's.  From my research I found out that he used United Cutlery on many projects and they in turn used either Master Seizo Imai or Master Tak Fukuta.  This knife has the feel of one of those old masters, it's a heavy knife that is well built, solid and very sharp.  The fit and finish is high quality.  The black Micarta handles are chip and crack free.  The stainless steel blade has not been used or resharpened and retains it's factory edge.  That gut hook opens a letter like a hot knife through butter.  Measures 4 1/4" closed OAL.  Good snap and no wobble or play.  Locks up tight with easy release.  All nickle silver components, no brass on this knife.
