This is a Vintage or Antique Used and Sharpened KA-BAR UNION, N.Y. 1-Blade Swayback Barehead Jack Folding Pocket Knife with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Sheepfoot Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Set of Slick Black Solid Composition Scales, Three (3) Nickel Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Steel Bolsters and Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 4” in Length, Made by the Union Cutlery Co Located in Union, New York Using Their KA-BAR Trademark Between c.1911-1951.

This is a KA-BAR UNION, N.Y. 1-blade Bareheaded Swayback Jack Folding Pocket Knife. It has a single used and sharpened 2 7/8” long carbon steel sheepfoot blade. Both faces have a lot of scratches from use and sharpening. But except for some nearly impossible to see light scattered micro-pits the blade polished up very well. Stamped on the front tang is KA-BAR (over) UNION, N.Y. This stamping indicates the knife was made between c.1911-1951. two crossed keys (over) F HERDER A. SN (over) SOLINGEN. The blade still has excellent open and close snap and a hard thud on the half-stop. The knife has a set of slick black solid composition scales. They’re free of any cracks, splits or missing chips. There’s a dent on the bottom of the front scale along with some pocket carry type scratches. There are three (3) nickel silver handle pins in each scale. The knife has steel rounded bolsters and steel or nickel silver liners. The knife has a single steel back spring with no cracks or breaks. It still continues to perform the functions it was to perform. This KA-BAR 1-Blade Barehead Swayback Jack Folding Pocket Knife is 4” in length. Made by The Union Cutlery Co. of Union, New York using their KA-BAR trademark and made between c.1911-1951. Additional information or photos upon request.
