WALDEN 1-Blade Polished Brass Folding Cigar Cutter & Pocket Knife with an Unused and Unsharpened Carbon Steel Spear Point Blade with a Common Nail Pull and its Original Factory Edge, a Very Brightly Polished Brass Frame with the Front having an Intricate Wave or Herringbone Like Pattern and the Rear Being Brass with a Smooth Finish Suitable For Name or Initial Etching, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks that Still has the Proper Tension Necessary to Cut Off the Cigar Tip, the Original Brass Bail Still Attached, 2 7/16” in Length, Made by the New York Knife Company that was Located in Walden, New York with this Particular Cigar Cutter/Pocket Knife Made Between c.1856 and 1931.

This is a **RARE** NYKC brass cigar cutter in great condition. I’ve only had one other cigar cutter made by NYKC and I haven’t seen another anywhere though I’m sure they’re out there. I just love the way the brass polished up and don’t understand why people don’t keep them polished up. This beauty has an unused and unsharpened carbon steel spear point blade which also serves as the guillotine blade for cutting the tip of the cigar off. Both faces have quite a few scattered specks that are hard to see without a magnifying glass. The blade is still full and still has good snap on open and a good “thud” on close. It also has the perfect tension to guillotine the tip off of the cigar when placed in the hole in the brass frame. Stamped on the front tang is NEW YORK (over) KNIFE CO (over) WALDEN. Speaking of which the brass frame polished up beautifully and bright as brass will typically do if properly polished. The front handle has an intricate wave or herringbone like pattern with a more intricate pattern around the cigar tip hole. The rear handle is brightly polished brass with a smooth surface but it does show quite a few scratches from handling. The smooth surface allows plenty of area if one wanted to have a name or initials etched on it. On the end the knife still has the original brass bail riveted to the frame. The knife/cigar cutter has a single steel back spring with sufficient tension for the blade to cut through the cigar tip. This **RARE** Brightly Polished Brass Vintage or Antique New York Knife Co Cigar Cutter/Pocket Knife would be a must have for either a NYKC collector or a cigar cutter collector. It was made in the NYKC factory that was located in Walden, New York and made between c.1856-1931 and is 2 7/16” in length not counting the bale. Additional photos or information on request.
