This is a Vintage Hard to Find CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY CO LITTLE VALLEY N.Y. 2-Blade Model No. 2014 Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Very Decorative Set of Embossed Metal Scales with a Raised Flower And Vine Motif and a Dimpled Relief Area and in Great Shape with No Cracks, Splits, Dents or Dings, Two (2) Nickel Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 2 7/8” in Length and Made by the Cattaraugus Cutley Co. that was Located in Little Valley, New York and Made Between c.1886-1963.

This is a Cattaraugus Cutlery Co Model No. 2014 Embossed Metal shadow pen pocket knife that doesn’t come up very often. The knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull. Both faces have scratches from use and sharpening and some light staining but just a few minor micro-pits mainly along the top of the rear face. Stamped on the front tang is CATTARAUGUS (in an arch) (over) CUTLERY CO (over) LITTLE VALLEY (over) NY. The knife also has a used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. This blade was barely ever used and definitely not sharpened. There are just some minor stains on either face and it polished up really well. Stamped on the front tang is CATTARAUGUS (in an arch) (over) CUTLERY CO (over) LITTLE VALLEY (over) N.Y. There’s a bit of separation between the rear scale and the back spring so the spear blade is a little more loose than I’d like. It does have a bit of a very light “thump” on open and close. The pen blade does have a very good snap on open and close The scales are embossed Silver toned metal. The relief area is a dimpled surface with the raised areas a very decorative and ornate flower and vine pattern. I removed I don’t know how many layers of grease, grunge, finger oils and other environmentals from the silver toned scales and compared to the way I got it it’s got a decent shine to it now. They’re really in good condition with no dents or dings. There are two (2) nickel silver handle pins in each scale. The knife has a single steel back spring and it’s free of any cracks or breaks and it continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. The knife is 2 7/8” in length. Made by the Cattaraugus Cutlery Company that was located in Little Valley, New York and made between c.1886-1963. Additional photos or information on request.
