TANG STAMPS:   ULSTER/KNIFE/CO. Letters are with serif

CONDITION:   Fair to Very Good

DAMAGE: Normal wear, scratches to blame, handles & bolsters. Tang stamp on master blade is difficult to read but pen blade stamp is easy to read. Per NKCA standards the master blade tang stamp would downgrade the knife to Fair condition but otherwise the knife would rate Very Good. Also some light surface pitting.

ADDITIONAL INFO:      I love these old single spring double blade knives, often referred to as pen knives. This is a nice old knife with good blades and good walk and talk. The celluloid handles do not appear to have shrunk appreciably, and in proper lighting they have a beautiful greenish wood grain pattern that I could not capture in the sunlight. The serif on the letters of the tang stamps would indicate this knife was made prior to 1941 when Albert Baer purchased Ulster Knife Company from the sons of Dwight Divine.
