This USAF VIETNAM VET ISSUED 1-1969 ONTARIO NY 499 Air Force Survival Knife w/Original Leather Sheath is in great overall preowned vintage condition and working order! Shows expected minor age/use/handling/storage related wear, surface scratches, debris, etc. consistent with prior usage.

Recently acquired at a local market directly from the gentlemen it was issued to. He stated it was only used a handful of times and he "never HAD to use it". AS IS, AS FOUND!

Features

Blade: It features a 5-inch clip point blade made of 1095 carbon steel with a zinc phosphate (rust-inhibiting) finish. The spine of the blade includes saw teeth.

Handle: The handle is made of natural stacked leather with deep grooves for grip.

Construction: The knife is built with a full tang, a steel buttcap that can be used for hammering, and a steel guard with two holes, which are designed for lashing the knife to a stick to create a makeshift spear.

Sheath: It comes with a brown leather sheath that has a metal reinforcing plate at the tip to prevent penetration and a pouch that contains a sharpening stone.
