This is a real piece of craftsmanship from a bygone era.  The tang reads "Rodgers Cutlers To her Majesty" (No England) which I understand to mean its from 1837 to 1901.  Based on the materials, or lack thereof, this knife is likely from around 1850 or before.   

Given its age, it's in remarkable condition functionally.  There's still plenty of snap and just a bit of wobble.  The main defect is the missing metal piece in the handle.  That's not too surprising given how the material it was embedded in shrinks and swell much differently, and there wasnt any super glue handy!  The other "defect" is that the smaller blade is tough to grab with your fingernails.

Ultimately, this is a beautiful knife and a real piece of pocket knife history!
