Marbles #2 Hound and Hare Hatchet. Has the number 2 stamped clearly on the bottom of the ax heel. Very nice condition on the early and longer clevis style handles showing three minor separations at the very ends were the material is thinist as shown. Early model without the dimples in the guard. The guard spring works as it should and guard does have a bit of damage to the very end on the mark side that does not effect the function (3rd pic). Axe head appears to be near full with some pitting as shown. I would say this early #2 safety axe is in very good condition and far above the average of what would be seen in this model. All original and early  #2.
