1996 old school Rob Dalton OTF model that has been debated which was first Ranger or Halo?  Personally, I don't care which was first, just that they're awesome knives! Dalton has always set a standard about how hard, fast., And solid lock-up. Dalton's reputation for being some of the strongest hardest- even the loudest of automatic knives firing like you instantly focus on what the heck that was. I've  collected Dalton knives around 20 years, had at one point over 100 of the 450 different models of what I still say are some of the VERY BEST knives ever made! Thanks to John Kinoff being Rob's #2 in command that appreciated my business, my military service, just the way I do things he wanted to thank me by adding a freebie knife in my next order. When I got the package, I was shocked to discover what all happened. John went straight to Rob and told him-didnt ask but told Rob to make a one of a kind knife as a surprise.  It's more valuable to me because Rob knew it's the only one and just for me. Yes, I felt very special!  He etched my name on blade and gave it the serial number '0' telling me how there isn't '1' like it anywhere....  how cool is that?! Almost as cool as was 100% free, handmade by Rob himself, and just the best kind of a surprise.   Rob even offered to help me however he can to put my knife design/invention into production. What a great guy.  As I developed and refined the 2 prototypes about to patent them with Rob mentoring this lucky guy,  the world stopped- Rob Dalton passed away (Mar2023) and  left me happy to have known him but sad because that great path just started and just ended so sadly. I truly appreciate his knives even more because he's gone, but even many knife nuts don't really know how much innovation Rob gave the knife world. But know that no matter which model, what year was made, what type of knife, EVERY Dalton knife was made with Rob's heart and soul to be superior, appreciated,  and just as solid when a year old or 30 or 50 years old.This knife rocks! Nuff said except
