Beautiful James (Jim) Whitehead Custom Fixed Blade Knife Called The Rhino, Unused

Beautiful James (Jim) Whitehead Custom Fixed Blade Knife Called The Rhino, Unused. The blade and metal part of the handle were engraved by Jim, the ivory scale was engraved by Bob Hergert. The knife was designed to stand on the legs and look a little bit like a Rhino.

I acquired the knife in Oregon at the big Oregon Knife Club Show. The knife maker is deceased. He was a jewelry maker who also made custom miniature knives and would set up at the Oregon Show. I was told Jim would set up his engraving equipment and work on knives at the show.

The show used to be a big gathering place for miniature knife collectors. I was able to meet mini knife dealers selling Jim's knives and even the gentleman that engraved the ivory scales on this knife last year. It’s an amazing piece and would be a great addition to your collection!

WANT LIST: I do my best to maintain an inventory of interesting and unique knives. I'm always looking for single pieces and collections. My current switchblade focus includes Miniature & Keychain, Vintage Imports from Europe (Spain, France, Italy, etc.) & Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, etc.), RPK's, Bullfighters, older Microtechs & Daltons and some other American Switchblades. I also like interesting miniature knives and arms, 1980's Import Balisongs, Coutel, Digby's (Graham Clayton) and older Great Eastern Cutlery folders.

ABOUT: I've been into knives since I was a kid. I always seemed to have a small accumulation of them in my dresser drawer for example. I started carrying one regularly in 1991 when I was in the US Army stationed in Panama. My knife collecting days started around 2010 and in 2021 I decided to become a dealer.

I'm still a collector so I understand the fun and excitement of finding a new treasure. Because of that I always do my best to give accurate information about my knives and their condition. I take lots of pictures and offer video's for all the switchblades and some of the other knives I sell. I research sales prices and other available information and have a great network of dealers and collectors to draw from. All that said, I still make mistakes so please let me know if something I say is innacurate or misleading.
