Made in Germany!

This beauty was produced during the last years of Henckels production of pocket knives. The pocket knives that were made with the Henckels name after 1960 were contracted out to other knife makers, namely Boker. Henckels might be one of the most recognizable names in the world of cutlery, first coming onto the scene from Germany in 1731. Today their products can be found in kitchens around the world. But these knives are a far cry from the high quality folding knives like this stockman, or more accurately "Premium Stock Knife" as the blade etch states. 

Starting with the genuine German stag scales, you can see why collectors are always keeping an eye out for this specific model. These knives were never made with a shield, which is fine when the gnarly stag on the mark side looks this amazing. The pile side has more of a pocket worn smoothness. One of the reasons I've always loved stag is because of how unique each piece looks, even from one side to the other. No chips or cracks.

The high carbon blades on this knife are in excellent condition, with a beautiful moderate patina forming. Yet the blade etch is still easily readable. The blades have no wobble or play, with gator snap! Ok, the spey blade may be a younger gator, but a gator nonetheless. The blades look virtually untouched. The spey may have been used once or twice without resharpening. And I can see a tiny something towards the tip of the main blade as well.  I don't want to say these are factory edges, but boy do they look close! 

Approx 4 1/8 inches overall length with the main blade measuring at approx 3 1/8 inches.
