Established on Canal Street in New York City, Haag & Co was producing knives and razors in the 1930's with blades made both in Germany and in England. This high carbon blade has no tang stamps, but the F&G Haag & Co. blade etch is still clearly visible. The blade etch is located oddly far forward on the blade. This detail, combined with the unusual blade shape, leads me to believe that the blade has been reshaped. I can only describe the shape as some sort of wharncliff variation, which somewhat reminds me of some of the modern SpyderCo blade shapes. It's defintely unique. The grip is finished with a nice dense piece of stag, which feels great in the hand with it's natural curvature.

I recieved this knife in a lot which had several custom knives and refurbished blades from Ray Haselton of Vermont. This style matches up with his custom work that I have seen. The knife has obvious signs of use and resharpening as well as the wear and markings you'd expect to find on a blade this age. However, the patina and pitting is very light.
