Tak Fukuta is a long-time Knifemaker's Guild member who is renowned for his innovative designs and remarkable craftsmanship. Fukuta has designed knives for several factory makers in addition to his custom work. This piece was designed for Junglee and is just an outstanding, highly versatile, and highly functional hunting knife. The design features several elements usually sought in high quality customs. The blade has a concave grind and the AUS-8 steel will offer a superior edge and excellent edge retention. The blade was polished to a deep mirror finish and features a full tapered tang. The quality is exceptional and the fit & finish are as well. The guard is nickel silver and was beautifully executed. The Sambar stag is of exceptional quality and is incredibly gorgeous. The stag slabs are tightly secured with bi-metallic rivets and set upon black spacers that really add an elegant touch. The stag was beautifully shaped and the shaped surfaces were highly polished and are silky-smooth. Includes Fukuta's trademark suede leather lanyard. Many of Junglee's current knives are made in Taiwan, but this piece was made when they were still making in Seki City, Japan. Seki City has a blade making history that goes back nearly 800 years and today's Seki makers draw on that vast history and take as much pride in their work as their ancestors did. Seki has a wealth of multi-generational makers and really produces some outstanding work. This is a solid knife with superb balance and feel. The sheath is the original and is of excellent quality. The leather is thick and of high quality. An outstanding knife from a legendary maker!!
