Camillus is no stranger to military contracts. Although the Jet Pilot Survival Knife (JPSK) was originally produced for the USAF by Marbles in 1957, it didn't long for Camillus to step in and undercut (no pun intended) the competition. A handful of modifications were made to this model over the years. Camillus parkerized their blades, which was a change from the original blued steel in the Marbles design. They also had a screw on and peened, octogonal pommel. Early models were 6" before being shortened to 5" in 1962. There were also several changes made to the sheath. This knife was optimized to serve pilots and aircrew that might find themselves stuck behind enemy lines. It needed to be tough and reliable enough to handle any task that might be found in a survival situation. Everything from cutting one's self from a parachute stuck in a tree to silently neutralizing an enemy combatant.

This knife is perfect for camping or working the land. It has a 5" clip blade with a straight edge and saw tooth back. This model has a parkerized finish and peened pommel which is stamped 10-1975. (October 1975) There is some moderate wear on the parkerized finish, which appears to mainly be from the sheath. Other scratches and markings on the blade are only on the finish and are not grooved deep into the metal itself. Other various dings and scratches on the pommel. The stacked leather handles are in pretty good shape, with a dark worn mark wear the knife is strapped into the sheath. The sheath also has some moderate wear, with a reinforced aluminum back side and a sharpening stone. (See pictures)
