This is a Antique Vintage HUMASON & BECKLEY NEW BRITAIN, CT 2-Blade Equal End Senator Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Used And Sharpened Carbon Steel Long Spear Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull, a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Excellent Set of Worm Grooved Green Bone Scales and No Cracks, Splits, Missing Chips or Missing Slivers,Three (3) Nickel Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Polished Nickel Silver Rounded Tip Bolsters, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 2 3/4” in Length, Made by the Humason & Beckley Mfg. Co. Located in New Britain, Connecticut Between c.1852-1916. 

This is a very old vintage Humason & Beckley equal end pen knife in very good condition considering it’s between 106-170 years old. The knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel long spear point main blade with a long Matchstriker nail pull. The front face has scratches from use and sharpening and a little hard to see light micro-pitting. The rear face has scratches from use and sharpening and some scattered light staining. On the other end of the frame is a used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade. Both faces are pretty much clean other than scratches from use. Stamped on the front tang is H&B (over) MFG CO (over) NEW BRITAIN. Both blades still have excellent open and close snap and hard “thumps” on the half-stops. The knife has a set of jigged and worm grooved green bovine bone scales in perfect condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three nickel silver pins in each scale. It has brightly polished nickel silver tip bolsters and brightly polished brass liners. The one steel back spring has no cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This exceptional old vintage Humason & Beckley Mfg. Co. Equal End Pen Knife is 2 3/4” In length and made between c.1852-1816. H&B was purchased by Landers, Frary & Clark in 1916. Additional photos or information on request
