This is a Big CHALLENGE CUTLERY CORP BRIDGEPORT CONN 2-Blade Equal End Jumbo Jack Folding Pocket Knife with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Narrow Spear Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull, a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Great Set of Medium to Dark Brown Jigged Bone Stag Scales with 2 Mini-Cracks You Might Never Find, a Large Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Gimp Style Shield on the Front Scale and Attached with a Single Nickel Silver Pin, Three Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Large Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Rounded Bolsters and End Caps, Polished Brass Liners, Two Steel Back Springs with a Little Medium to Heavy Pitting but With No Cracks or Breaks, 4 1/4” in Length and Made by the Challenge Cutlery Company That was Located in Bridgeport, Connecticut and Made Between c.1905 and 1928.

In spite of the obvious blade issues this is still one long, big and heavy duty knife at 4 1/4” long. This knife was made for many decades of hard and heavy use and it looks like that’s exactly how it was used. This big old vintage Challenge Jumbo Jack has a used and sharpened spear point main blade with a long nail pull. The front face has a lot of scratches from use and sharpening and some light o a little more moderate pitting but only a few. Te reverse side is about the same it’s some light to more moderate pitting along with scratches from use and sharpening. Stamped on the front tang is the CHALLENGE (in an arch)(over) CUTLERY CO (over) BRIDGEPORT (over) CONN.  The knife has a used,  sharpened and shortened carbon steel pen blade with a common nail pull. Both faves have quite a bit of light to moderate pitting up both blade faces. The blade was most likely heavily used as it is undoubtedly shortened down. Stamped on the front tang is CHALLENGE (over) CUTLERY CO (over) BRIDGEPORT (over) CONN. Both blades have good to excellent plus snap on both open and close and hard half-stops. The knife has a set of black slick black solid composition scales. They’re free of any cracks, splits or missing chips but they do have quite a bit of scratching, bumps and nicks from serious pocket carry. The knife has a large brightly polished nickel silver gimp style shield inlaid flush in the front scale. It has quite a few scratches from pocket carry or tool chest banging.  There are three (3)  nickel silver handle pins in each scale. The knife has large brightly polished nickel silver rounded bolsters and end caps. The knife has two heavy duty steel back springs. Other than some dings and scratches the back springs are in good condition. Both are free of any cracks or breaks and both still continue to perform the function they were.designed to perform.  This big heavy duty Challenge Cutlery Company Equal End Jumbo Jack Knife is 4 1/4” in length and was made in the Challenge factory that was located in Bridgeport, Connecticut and Made Between c.1905-1928.
