This is an Imperial PROV USA 1-Blade Texas Toothpick Folding Pocket Knife, or as Imperial Called Them “The Sportsmaster Outdoor Knife” with a Single Carbon Steel Clip Point Blade with a Long Nail Pull, an Excellent Set of Multi-Colored Foil Covers with This One of a Flying Mallard and in Excellent Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips or Slivers and with a Clear Celluloid Cover Over the Top of the Foil, Brightly Polished “Nuloy” Single Flute Bolsters and End Caps, Steel Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 4 1/4” in Length and Made by the Imperial Knife Co Located in Providence Rhode Island Between c.1946-1956 as a Set of 4 Different Covers.    

This is one of the four different outdoor scenes Imperial made with foil covers on a Texas Toothpick or Fish Knife. I recently sold a set of all four and was going to use this one to accumulate another full set but I no longer have the time. This is an Imperial 1-Blade Texas Toothpick or Fish Folding Pocket Knife in Great Condition. The knife has a carbon steel clip point blade with a long nail pull.  Both faces have scratches from use but no other stains, pits or blemishes of any kind. Stamped on the front tang is Imperial (with the Imperial crown over the top)(over) PROV USA.  Stamped on the rear tang are three of the many patent number Imperial had mainly addressing using celluloid scales on knives with bolsters. The blade still has very good to excellent hard snap on both open and close. The covers on this knife are the draw. Imperial came out with four different outdoor scenes on these knives. There was a sailfish, a flying mallard, a hunting dog and a pheasant. The red, green, gold and black covers are still in excellent plus condition and still have a shiny surface. There is another clear celluloid cover that fits over the foil covers to protect them. There are no blemishes on the covers and there are no pins needed. The knife has brightly polished “Nuloy” rounded bolsters and clasp type end caps both with a single flute.  The knife has steel liners and a single steel back spring. The back spring is free of any cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This beautiful Imperial toothpick or fish knife with the bright foil covers of a flying mallard is still In excellent condition and is 4 1/4” in length. Made by the Imperial Knife Co of Providence, Rhode Island between c.1946-1956. Additional information or photos upon request.
