Gerber Paul Series II, Model 2 knife is mint in original presentation box.  This knife has a unique axial locking mechanism designed by aerospace engineer Paul Poehlmann; the blade locks in the open and closed position and can be moved by depressing the axial lock button.  The knife is 3-3/4 inches closed and 6-3/8 inches with the drop point blade open.  Blade is etched:  SERIES II  MODEL 2  PAUL  GERBER, U.S.A.  The lock button is marked:  PAUL  PATENTS PENDING on the front.  Scales are Mastodon ivory attached with screws to the 400 series steel side plates.

Condition is used - NKCA - Mint in original box with paper inserts.  Knife has never been used, carried or sharpened.  The are no chips, cracks or flaws to the handles or sideplates.  The blade has no pits or scratches and has the original finish.  Blade is full and unused and securely locks in the open and closed positions with no wobble.  Presentation box is also in mint condition.  Photos are explicitly part of this description.

This Gerber Paul knife with the axial locking mechanism is very precise and strong, but was expensive to produce.  This knife with the Mastodon ivory scales was sold exclusively by A. G. Russell in 1996 in very limited quantities.
