This is a very nice 3” long Empire Winsted CT Balloon Pen Folding Pocket Knife. It has a used and sharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull. Both blade faces have plenty of scratches from use but other than that just some extremely light very scattered micro-pitting. Both faces polished up pretty well  Stamped on the front tang is EMPIRE (over) WINSTED (over) CT. The knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade. The front face has quite a bit of light to more moderate pitting and a lot of staining. The rear face also has scratches from use and some very light pitting and micro pitting but it too polished up well and still at or near full. Stamped on the front tang is EMPIRE (over) WINSTED (over) CT. The spear blade is quiet on open and has to be helped to close all the way. It does stop fine on the half-stop. The pen blade has excellent snap on open and close and a good half-stop. The knife has a very nice set of black Ebony wood scales. They’re in excellent condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three (3) nickel silver pins in each scale. It has brightly polished nickel silver elongated and rounded bolsters with do dents or dings. The liners are brightly polished brass. The knife has a single polished steel back spring. It’s free of any cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform.
