This is a Vintage IMPERIAL PROVIDENCE R.I. 3-Blade Premium Serpentine Stockman Pocket Knife with a Carbon Steel Clip Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Spey Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Pen Tertiary Blade, a Beautiful Set of Multi-Colored Green, Black and White Celluloid Scales with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, a Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Crest Shaped Shield Inlaid Flush in the Front Scale, Three (3) Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Rounded Bolsters, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, Two (2) Back Springs with No Cracks or Breaks, 3 1/2” in Length and Made by the Imperial Cutlery Company that was Located in a Providence, Rhode Island with This Knife Being Made Between c.1930-1936.

 And it it NOT a clamshell knife.

This is an early IMPERIAL PROVIDENCE R.I. 3-Blade Serpentine Premium Stockman Folding Pocket Knife. This is an earlier Imperial made back when they were still making quality pocket knives and not the clamshell knives. The knife has a carbon steel clip point main blade with a long nail pull. Both faces fave scratches from use and sharpening and there’s a farmer area of pitting and staining on the front face near the blade tip.  The rear face has scratches from use and sharpening and just a little staining along the edges. Stamped on the front tang of the clip blade is IMPERIAL (over) PROVIDENCE R.I. This stamping indicates the knife was made between c.1930-1936.  It has a carbon steel Spey point secondary blade with a common nail pull. It too has scratches from use and sharpening but is overall clean on both faces. The third blade is a carbon steel pen blade with a common nail pull. It also has scratches from use and a single pit on the front face only. All three blades still have very good to excellent snap on open and close and all three (3) blades appear to at or near full. The knife has a beautiful set of multi-colored green, black and white swirl celluloid scales. They’re in excellent plus condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There is a brightly polished nickel silver crest shaped shield inlaid flush in the front scale. It has three (3) brightly polished brass handle pins in each scale. The rounded bolsters are brightly polished nickel silver. The liners are brightly polished brass. The two brightly polished steel back springs are free of any cracks or breaks and they both continue to perform the functions they were designed to perform. This is a serpentine premium stock knife at 3 1/2” in length. Made by the Imperial Knife Co. of Providence, R.I. between c.1930-1936.  Additional photos or information on request.
