Vintage MERIDEN KNIFE CO STAINLESS “DELINEATOR BOYS SALES” Folding Pocket Knife 1917–26

This is a **VERY RARE** Vintage MERIDEN KNIFE CO. STAINLESS 1-Blade Barehead Jack Boys Pocket Knife with a Lightly Used and Sharpened Stainless Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, Aluminum Scales Molded to Look Like They’re Jigged with DELINEATOR (over) BOY SALES Molded on the Front Scale, 3 Aluminum Handle Screws in Each Scale, a Single Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 3 1/16” in Length, Made by Meriden Knife Co. of Meriden, Connecticut, Primarily a Contractor Specializing in a Skeleton Knives and Knives made for Miller Bros., Made Between c1917-1932.

Meriden Knife Co. primarily made knives for Miller Bros. Cutlery Co. This is a nice example of a 1-blade boys knife made as an advertisement knife for Delineator Magazine. Delineator was a magazine of that time that sold advertisements for boys clothing and this most likely was an advertisement knife made for them. This RARE classic boys knife has a single lightly used and sharpened stainless steel spear point blade. Both faces have scratches from use but other than that the stainless steel blade is clean and polished up well. Stamped on the front tang is MERIDEN (over) KNIFE CO (over) STAINLESS. The blade has excellent hard and loud open and close snap and a very hard distinct half-stop. It does have quite a bit of side to side wobble when fully opened but no up r down play. The handles are made of molded aluminum. Molded into the front handle is DELINEATOR (over) BOY SALES. The handles are also molded to mimic a jigged look. There are three aluminum screws in each handle which are commonly seen on Miller Bros. Knives. The knife has a single steel back spring. It has no cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This rare old Meriden Knife Co. boy’s knife is 3 1/16” in length and made between c.1917-1932. Additional information or photos upon request.
