This is a Vintage BIE CO SOLINGEN GERMANY 4-Blade Unofficial Scout Folding Pocket Knife with One (1) Cutting Blade and Three (3) Tool Blades with Four (4) Tools with a Very Used and Poorly Sharpened Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Long Nail Pull AND THE original Deep Blade Etch that Reads SCOUT KNIFE, a Carbon Steel Combination Blade with a Cap-Lifter (Bottle Opener), a Skate Key Tool but the Flat Blade Screwdriver Portion of the Blade Along with the Top Part of the Skate Key have Broken Off, a Carbon Steel Can Opener Blade, a Carbon Steel Leather Punch Blade, a Set of Dark Brown Jigged Bovine Bone Scales With No Cracks or Splits and Just Some very Minor Chipping Off the Bottom of the Front Scale, a Polished Nickel Silver Long Gimp Style Shield Centered on the Front Scale and Stamped SCOUT KNIFE, Three (3) Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Nickel Silver Rounded Bolsters, the Original Nickel Silver Bail is Missing, Brightly Polished Brass Liners with an Extra Bottom Liner on the Back Side, Two Heavy Duty Steel Back Springs with No Cracks or Breaks, Made by BIE CO That Was Located in Solingen, Germany and is 3 5/8” in Length.

I’ve seen a few of these old German made BIE CO Scout knives but I still don’t know much about them. This is a Pretty used BIE CO SOLINGEN GERMANY 4-Blade Scout Knife with 1 cutting blade and 4 tool remaining. The knife has one cutting blade and four very useful tools in the field left on the three other blades. The knife has a heavily used and poorly sharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a long nail pull. Both faces have scratches from use and sharpening and there are quite a few pits on the front face and fewer on the rear face. Deeply etched on the front face is SCOUT KNIFE.  Stamped on the front tang is BIE CO (over) SOLINGEN (over) GERMANY. Next to the spear blade is a carbon steel combination blade that still consists of a cap-lifter, or bottle opener, and a skate key wrench. Broken off at the top of the blade it’s now lost the top portion of the skate key tool and all of the flat blade screwdriver. It has quite a bit staining and scratching. On the other end of the knife is a carbon steel can opener blade. It is mechanically sound with only a few light scratches and stains. The last blade is a carbon steel leather punch. It polished up brightly and is pretty much blemish free and polished up very bright. The punch is full length and the tip is still fully intact. All four blades have hard open and close snap. This knife has a set of dark brown jigged bovine bone scales.  Other that a bit of light shipping on the very bottom of the front scale they’re still in pretty good shape. There is a nickel silver long gimp style shield centered on the front scale and stamped with SCOUT KNIFE. the knife has three (3) brass handle pins in each scale. The knife has nickel silver rounded bolsters. The nickel silver shackle is missing. The knife has brightly polished brass liners with an extra brass liner on the bottom on the rear side. The knife has two heavy duty steel back springs. They are free of any cracks or breaks and both continue to perform the functions they were designed to perform. This vintage 4-blade BIE CO SOLINGEN GERMANY Scout Knife was made in Solingen, Germany probably pre-WW II. The knife is 3 5/8” in length. Additional photos or information on request.
