I’ve gone for months now avoiding having to do this BUT...... Due to the nearly pandemic number of non-paying and late paying bidders, and the fact I’m spending as much time trying to to get auction winners to pay for what they purchased 4 and 5 days earlier it’s become necessary for me to put the following policy in place. So starting immediately payment is due within 48 hours. If payment is not received in that time a non-paying bidder case will automatically be opened with eBay. This may seem harsh to some but it is necessary because of the actions of the few. Few being as many as 11 at once at times. Bidders with 350+ positive feedbacks and customers with which I’ve had previous successful transactions are exempt from the requirements and I thank those customers very much. If you are bidding on multiple knives I can waive the 48 hour rule. Just let me know and hold payment until I can send you an invoice to save you on shipping.

I ALWAYS offer the lower cost first class shipping option. Why pay those high dollar shipping fees to get your knife 1 day sooner when you shouldn’t have to.

This is a Vintage, or Antique, ELECTRIC CUT. CO. NEWARK N.J. 2-Blade Equal End Senator Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Carbon Steel Long Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Fantastic Set of Dark Brown Stag Scales in Perfect Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Brightly Polished German Silver Rounded Bolsters, Three (3) German Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished German Silver  Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring, 3 1/2“ in Length, Made in the Friedmann & Lauterjung Factory Located in NEWARK, New Jersey and Made Between c. 1873-1909.

These old Electric knives, especially these early pre-NYKC Friedman & Lauterjung examples, made in Newark, New Jersey, before NYKC obtained the trademark and moved production to Walden, New York in 1909. This old Electric is still in excellent overall condition. The knife has a carbon steel long spear point main blade with a common nail pull. Both faces have scratches from use and just a few hard to see light stains. The front face has an old rust scar from the tang to just past the beginning of the nail pull. Stamped on the front tang is ELECTRIC (in an arch)(over) CUT. CO. (over) NEWARK, N.J.  On the other end of the frame is a carbon steel pen secondary blade also with a common nail pull.  Both faces have scratches from use but are otherwise clean and polished up well. The front tang is stamped ELECTRIC (in a straight line). Both blades still have excellent snap on both open and close and the pen blade has a a hard half-stop. The knife has a fantastic set of dark brown stag scales. They’re in perfect condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips or slivers and they look fantastic with that pocket wear sheen. The knife has brightly polished German Silver rounded bolsters and all are free of any dents or dings but do have some pocket carry type light scratches. There are three (3) German Silver handle pins in each scale. The liners are polished German Silver as well. The knife has a single steel back spring with no cracks or breaks and It continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. The knife is 3 1/2”  in length and made by Friedman & Lauterjung in the Electric Cutlery Co factory located in NEWARK, New Jersey. Made sometime between c.1873-1909 but a bit confusing when exactly this curved stamp was used though Goins indicates the curved stamp was used from c.1873-1890 but the Electric Cutlery Co. name wasn’t incorporated until c.1889. But it is definitely pre-NYKC and most likely made c.1890 or before. Additional photos or information on request.

Knife will be safely packaged in bubble wrap and shipped in a box to reduce chances of damage. I will ship multiple purchases together to reduce shipping costs. If you win multiple items and want me to ship them together don't pay right away. Wait for me to send you an invoice reflecting the reduced shipping cost. If you win a knife or knives on one day and are going to bid on knives within 5 days of the first purchase just let me know and I will gladly hold the invoice until you inform me or when the 5 days is completed. But be aware after 5 calendar days I will send you an invoice for any knives purchased up to that point. I may make exceptions for buyers with exceptionally high ratings and a high number of feedbacks. Be aware that more than three knives may go over the weight limit of 16 oz for 1st class and may require different packaging and shipping costs. I keep shipping costs to only the price charged by USPS.
