This is a Vintage hard to find Wallkill River Works 2-Blade Equal End Senator Pen Folding Pocket Knife. When the New York Knife Co. phased out the Electric Cutlery Co trademark in 1920 they started using the Wallkill River Works as their second line of knives to their Hammer Brand knives. It looks like both blades have been cleaned but not professionally. The knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull.  Though cleaned both faces have numerous scratches from use and sharpening as well as scattered micro-pitting and some more moderate pitting on the rear face. Though hard to make out now you can see the front tang stamped WALLKILL RIVER (in a full arch)(over) WORKS (over) WALDEN, N.Y.  On the opposite end of the frame is a used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull.  Both faces have quite a bit of staining and light pitting.  Stamped on the front tang is WALLKILL RIVER (in a full arch)(over) WORKS (over) WALDEN, N.Y.  The spear point blade has a good “thump” on open and a good snap on close and a very good half-stop. The pen blade has a very good snap on open and close and a hard half-stop.  It has a set of medium to dark brown jigged bovine bone. The front scale has a tight crack rom the top edge down to the end pin on the pen blade pivot end. There is another crack from the center pin to the bottom liner. These are the only two cracks or defects on the scales. The rear scale is free of any crack, splits or missing chips. The knife has a polished German Silver crest shaped shield on the front scale. There are three (3) brass handle pins in each scale. The knife has brightly polished German Silver rounded bolsters though they have numerous dings and scratches most likely from pocket carry.  The liners are polished brass. It has a single (1) steel back spring and is free of any cracks or breaks but does have quite a bit of light pitting. But it still continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. This vintage hard to find Wallkill River Works 2-Blade Equal End Senator Pen Knife was made in the NYKC factory located in Walden, N.Y. between c.1920-1931 and is 3 5/16” in length.
