This is a Vintage, or Antique, ELECTRIC CUT. CO. WALDEN 2-Blade Equal End Shadow Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Narrow Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Unique Set of Light Green, Dark Green, Red and Cream Colored Vertical Stripe Celluloid Scales with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Three (3) German Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished German Silver or Steel Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring, 3 5/16” in Length, Made in the New York Knife Co Factory When the Electric Knife Brand was Sold to NYKC in 1909 and This Knife was Made Between c.1909-1920 When  the Electric Brand was Phased Out.

These fine old Electric Cutlery Co  knives are getting harder to find and are much more rare compared to their New York Knife Co. sister knives. This Electric Cutlery Co 2-Blade Shadow pen knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a common nail pull. The blade has been cleaned and polished back up. There are still a few remnants of old scratches from sharpening plus a grinder or file mark about 5/8” above the tang. The rear face also still shows scratches mainly from sharpening and both faces show to have been vigorously cleaned. Stamped on the front tang is ELECTRIC (over) CUT. CO. (over) WALDEN N.Y.  On the other end of the frame is a used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade also with a common nail pull. It also has been cleaned, and vigorously so, and polished back up. I don’t know if they used a sander or what to clean the blades but it definitely looks mechanical to me. Stamped on the front tang is ELECTRIC (over) CUT. CO. (over) WALDEN N.Y. Both faces of both blades are certainly free of any staining now. Both blades also have very good snap on open and close and very hard half-stops. The knife has a unique set of light and dark gree, red and cream colored vertical stripe Celluloid scales. They’re still in very good shape with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are a few dents and ding on them though but nothing bad. The knife has three (3) German Silver handle pubs in each scale. The liners are either German Silver or steel. The knife has a single steel back spring with no cracks or breaks and It continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. The knife is 3 5/16” in length and was made by the New York Knife Co located in Walden, New York using their second line trademark name of Electric Cutlery Co. This knife was made sometime between c.1909-1920 with 1920 being the year NYKC phased out the Electric trademark.  Additional photos or information on request.
