NEWARK 2-Blade Equal End Coffin Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Narrow Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Fiery Set of Genuine Mother-of-Pearl Scales in Perfect Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Brightly Polished German Silver Squared Bolsters with No Dents or Dings, Three (3) Nickel Silver Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, a Single Steel Back Spring, 2 7/8” in Length, Made in the Electric Cutlery Co Factory Located in Newark, New Jersey as Their Second Line of Knives, Electric Cutlery Company, Located in Newark, New Jersey and Between c.1889-1909.

These fine old Electric knives are getting harder to find and are much more rare compared to their New York Knife Co. sister knives. This Electric Cutlery Co coffin pen knife has a used and sharpened carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a common nail pull. The front face has scratches from use and some scattered staining with a cluster with a cluster of staining with some embedded very light pits. The rear face is cleaner with scratches from use and sharpening but is otherwise clean. Stamped on the front tang is ELECTRIC (in an arch)(over) CUT. CO. (over) NEWARK N.J.  On the other end of the frame is a used and sharpened carbon steel pen secondary blade also with a common nail pull. The front face has quite a bit of pitting up the length of the face. The rear face is still cleans with only one or two light pits. Stamped on the front tang is ELECTRIC (in an arch). The spear blade has a good snap on open and a loud snap on close along with a good “thump” on the half-stop.. The pen blade has a very light “thump” on open and a hard snap on close. It has a good “thump” on the half-stop. The knife has a fiery set of genuine Mother-of-Pearl scales  They’re in excellent condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. Both scales have the blues, greens, pinks and purples in the Pearl when turned in the light. The knife has brightly polished Nickel Silver squared bolsters and all are free of any dents, dings or no more than incidental light scratches. There are three (3) nickel handle pins in each scale. The liners are polished brass. The knife has a single steel back spring with no cracks or breaks and It continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform. The knife is 2 7/8” in length and made by the Electric Cutlery Co in their factory located in Newark, New Jersey between c.1889-1909.  Additional photos or information on request.
