This is a Lightly Used and Sharpened HERMS GERMANY 2-Blade Equal End Senator Pen Folding Pocket Knife with a Lightly Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Lightly Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade with a Common Nail Pull, an Excellent Plus Set of Genuine Mother-of-Pearl Scales in Perfect Condition with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Three (3) Brightly Polished Brass Handle Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Nickel Silver Rounded Bolsters 4 Flutes Each, Brightly Polished Brass Liners, a Single Polished Steel Back Spring with No Cracks or Breaks, 3 1/8” in Length, Made in Germany by August Herms Located in Solingen, Germany and Probably Made Between in the Early 20th Century.

I know very little about this knife maker other than it’s most probably made by August Herms that was located in Solingen, Germany. There’s not really much of any information about him anywhere. I consider this knife to be extremely uncommon at the least as it’s the only one I’ve ever run across. So if you collect obscure makers then here you a go. The knife has a lightly used and sharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull. The front face has a single line of staining near the top of the blade just about where the blade is level with the scale when closed. The rear face face has some light scratches from use but is otherwise clean. Though likely sharpened the blade is still close to or at full. Stamped on the front tang is HERMS (over) GERMANY. On the other end of the frame is a lightly used carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. Just like the spear blade there’s a single line of staining near the top just about where the blade would align with the scale when closed. The rear face has just a couple of light pits and that’s about it. Stamped on the front tang is HERMS (over) GERMANY. Both blades have excellent open and close snap. The scales are an excellent plus set of Genuine Mother-of-Pearl. They are in excellent plus condition with no cracks, splits or missing chips. There are three (3) brightly polished brass handle pins in each scale. It has brightly polished nickel silver rounded bolsters each with four flutes. The liners are brightly polished brass as well. The knife has a single polished steel back spring which is free of any cracks or breaks and continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform.
