Located in Winsted, Connecticut and Made c.1909.

This is a **RARE** Vintage and Antique Empire Equal End Shadow Pen Pocket Advertising Knife with brightly polished .925 Sterling Silver handles. Both of the carbon steel blades appear to be only lightly used and unsharpened. It has a carbon steel spear point main blade with a long nail pull. Both faces have scratches from use and just a bit of very light staining and still 100% full. Stamped on the front tang is EMPIRE. The knife has a carbon steel pen secondary blade with a common nail pull. Both faces on this this blade have scratches from use but are otherwise pretty clean. Both blades still have very good open and close snap and hard half-stops. The knife has a very nice set of brightly polished .925 Sterling Silver scales advertising, or commemorating, the 40th anniversary of the German National Bank of Davenport, Iowa 111 years ago in 1909. The front handle is stamped with a raised Davenport-Iowa with a flora design around it. STERLING is stamped just above the a in Iowa. The back handle is stamped in a raised 1869 German Savings Bank 1909. It also has a flora design around the borders. Both scales are in great condition with no visible scratches or dents. The knife has a single polished steel back spring with no cracks or breaks. It continues to perform the functions it was designed to perform.
