This is a Vintage MERIDEN KNIFE CO. 2-Blade Oval Lobster Pen or Watch Fob Knife with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade with a Common Nail Pull, a Carbon Steel Fingernail File, or Manicure Blade that Opens From the Bottom of the Knife, Gold Toned Etched Metal Scales, Internal Back Springs, 2 3/8” in Length, Made by the Meriden Knife Co. of Meriden, Connecticut, Primarily a Contractor Specializing in a Skeleton Knives and Knives made for Miller Bros.,Made Between c1917-1932. 

The Meriden Knife Co. primarily made knives for Miller Bros. Cutlery Co. This is a still nice 2-blade oval lobster pen or watch fob pocket knife. It has a used and sharpened carbon steel narrow spear point main blade with a common nail pull. Both faces have a little light scattered pitting. Stamped on the front tang is MERIDEN (over) KNIFE CO (over) USA. Opening from the bottom of the frame is a carbon steel fingernail file, or manicure, blade with a long nail pull. The face that folds face down into the frame has a standard ridge and valley style file surface. The other three sides are smooth. The top part of the blade is the fingernail cleaner. The spear blade has excellent open and close snap. The file blade is pretty quiet on open but has an excellent snap on close. The handles are gold toned etched metal. Each side has tightly packed horizontal lines separated by smooth areas. The front handle has a smooth flat rectangle area in the center for adding ones initials or name if one so chooses. The knife has internal back spring and they’re still performing the functions they were designed to make. This vintage Meriden Knife Co. oval lobster pen, or watch fob, pocket knife is 2 3/8” in length and made between c.1917-1932. Additional information or photos upon request.
