ADDITIONAL INFO:     This is the sweet little knife. The original celluloid handles were missing when I got this knife, and it came without a sheath. I cleaned the knife, replaced the missing handle with sandbar stag and made a new sheath for it by hand, including making a pattern to fit the knife, cutting, dying, sewing, and tooling the leather. This would make an excellent youth hunting knife or a great hunting companion for someone who has small hands. The last two pictures show this knife compared to another Western 237 that I purchased at the same person. The handles are still intact on this knife and are in reasonably good condition. One Western expert thought the celluloid knife was probably made in 1941 as a Christmas knife and it was probably made prior to Pearl Harbor. The knife I rebuilt with the stag handle was made circa 1936-1940. The celluloid handled knife is not part of the sale, just the stag handle knife in the sheath. The pattern was apparently discontinued after Pearl Harbor and so far as I am aware it was not produced again. It’s a beautiful little knife to add to your collection or to add to someone’s hunting gear.
